Beijer Electronics starts up business in Denmark

From 1 January 2007, Beijer Electronics’ subsidiary Beijer Electronics Automation took over Mitsubishi Electric’s agencies for the Danish market. Consequently, a new subsidiary was started up, Beijer Electronics A/S, and an office was established in Ballerup outsideCopenhagen.

– Our offensive in Denmark is a part of our new and increased investments on the Nordic and Baltic markets. We estimate that business area Automation reaches sales of some SEK 50 M on the Danish market in 2007. In the long-term, we also see good opportunities for growth, as there is considerable scope for taking additional market shares, says Göran Sigfridsson, CEO and president of Beijer Electronics.

The establishment is a part of last year’s agreement with Mitsubishi Electric, where Beijer Electronics was granted the distribution rights for their products on the Danish market. The purpose is to build up an organization on the Danish market to sell Automation’s entire product program, including the group’s proprietary operator terminals. The Danish organization will also be completed with local technical support and service.

The office in Ballerup has from start been staffed with five collaborators, with long experience from the business as well as from the product program. Automation’s shared Nordic organization for marketing, purchasing and logistics will also be used in Denmark . At year-end 2006, a strategic agreement was also signed with the previous distributor of Mitsubishi Electric’s agencies, Lemvigh-Müller (former Louis Poulsen Elteknik), which now will be one of Beijer Electronics’ sales channels in Denmark.
