Bong starts overprint activities in Lithuania

As a part of the increased Focus on the Eastern European markets Bong is about to start an overprint activity in Lithuania. The company will be set up in the city of Kaunas, the second biggest city in the country situated 100 kilometers west of Vilnius. The name of the new company will be UAB Baltvokas. The company will be formed as a joint venture with Bong holding 50% of the shares with the remaining 50% belonging to local entrepreneurs.

”Lithuania is undergoing rapid development and the envelope market is growing continuously. An overprint company in close proximity to its customers enables short lead times and a high degree of flexibility”, says Anders Davidsson, President and CEO of the Bong Group. “In combination with Bong´s printing know-how the Lithuanian company will be well positioned in serving the needs of its customers. “

Baltvokas forms an important part of Bong´s Baltic strategy and gives Lithuania full access to the high quality products of the Bong Group.

”Our new Lithuanian partners have thorough experience from the packaging industry, opening up possibilities for Bong to develop our packaging initiative also in the Lithuanian market”, Anders Davidsson concludes.

The company in Kaunas will start up within the next few days and the first deliveries will leave the premises during the month of June.

In conjunction with the start-up of Baltvokas Bong contributes with used printing machinery and transfer of know how. Baltvokas is foreseen to impact Bong´s result positively as of 2007.
