Saab signs agreement for aerial target services

Defence and security company Saab has signed an agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to provide advanced aerial target services to the Swedish Armed Forces. The agreement will come into effect during the period 2014–2020 and is valued at SEK 300 million. 

The agreement entails that Saab will continue supplying aerial target services with aircraft especially equipped for the various types of exercises required by the Swedish Armed Forces. Operations bring a comprehensive undertaking with Saab chiefly providing EW – Electronic Warfare and target towing flight operations. Also included within the framework of the agreement is maintenance and modification of aircraft and equipment.

“We have won this new contract in the face of tough international competition, providing clear evidence of Saab´s ability to deliver high quality services” says Lars-Erik Wige, Head of Saab's Support and Services business area. “Our close collaboration in this field goes back many years and the agreement is of major significance for our operations in Nyköping.”

Saab has conducted aerial target operations in Nyköping since 1986 and also offers these services on the international market.
