Saab receives two orders for Carl-Gustaf

Defence and security company Saab has signed two contracts on further deliveries of the Carl-Gustaf man-portable weapon system. The total value of the orders is 192 MSEK.

“This is very positive and it further proves the capability of the Carl-Gustaf system which until now has been exported to more than 40 customers around the world,” says Tomas Samuelsson, Business Unit Manager, Saab Bofors Dynamics.

Deliveries will be completed in 2010.

At the request of the customer, further details in the contract or about the customer will not be announced.

The Carl-Gustaf system has a long and successful history, but still proves to be a modern and capable Ground Support weapon. The first versions were delivered more than 50 years ago, and the system has successively been modernized and adapted to meet the changing requirements of the battlefield.

Saab’s ground combat systems are lightweight, easy-to-use and offer the commander multiple capabilities and freedom of action in any conflict scenario.

Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has operations and employees on all continents and constantly develops, adopts and improves new technology to meet customers’ changing needs.
