Saab reduces staffing levels in Linköping

Saab AB has today given notice to the County Employment Board in Östergötland regarding 60 blue-collar employees at the operation in Linköping.

The job losses relate to the legal entity Saab AB in Linköping, which encompasses the business units Saab Aerosystems and Saab Aerostructures, as well as Saab Support in Linköping, corporate functions and the legal entity Saab Aircraft AB.

The main reason for the move is that Saab has made organizational and structural changes, which have led to a reduced requirement primarily for manufacturing and support functions. The company is therefore now shedding 60 personnel due to lack of work. The move affects blue-collar employees.

The relevant union organizations have been informed.

"It is very sad to have to shed personnel. Under normal circumstances we would have had a turnover of employees to absorb these people into the internal labor market within Saab. However, with the staff turnover as low as it is, we are unfortunately forced to dismiss personnel. We will of course be doing everything we can to support the people affected by the move," says Roger Lantz, Human Resources Director at Saab in Linköping.

Saab is one of the world’s leading high-technology companies, with its main operations focusing on defence, aviation and space. The group covers a broad spectrum of competence and capabilities in systems integration.
