Saab Ericsson Space and ALCATEL signs Long Term Agreement for Spacebus Primary Satellite Structures
Saab Ericsson Space AB in Gothenburg, Sweden, and ALCATEL have signed a Long Term Agreement covering Spacebus 3000 and Spacebus 4000 Primary Satellite Structures
This is our first agreement with ALCATEL covering this product. We are very pleased to conclude that the qualification testing covering extended capabilities of both the SB3000B3 and SB4000C1 has been successfully completed in Linköping, says Jörgen Remmelg, General Manager of the Mechanical Products Division at Saab Ericsson Space. An ALCATEL and Saab Ericsson Space Integrated Product Team has done great job in developing a product that will maximize the end customer value, adds Remmelg.
The Long Term Agreement covers the development and production of the SB3000B3 and SB4000C1 primary satellite structure (Central Cylinder) for a given time period with an option for extension. The Central Cylinder, made primarily out of Carbon Fiber, is manufactured and assembled at the Saab and Saab Ericsson Space plant in Linköping/Sweden. The central cylinder is delivered to ALCATEL/Cannes for assembly of the Satellite Service Module.
Satellite Structures is one of Saab Ericsson Spaces key products. Together with the Payload Adapters and the Separation Systems this compiles the primary load path from the launcher upper stage and up, resulting in a very optimized system.
