AerotechTelub wins training systems order from Hägglunds

AerotechTelub has signed a contract with Land Systems Hägglunds AB for an engineer training and education system. The system is for use by the Swiss Army for training on the CV9030 CH Combat Vehicle, made by Hägglunds. The agreement is worth in the region of MSEK 40 and relates to deliveries in 2005-2006. The order will primarily affect AerotechTelub’s operations in Arboga and Linköping, Sweden.

“This order is further proof of our strength in operational support systems, of which training and education systems for engineers and operators are a particular niche area. We have a long tradition as a supplier of support systems for training, planning and evaluation for the Swedish Air Force. Relevant projects in 2004 include delivering systems for engineer training on the JAS 39 Gripen. This contract represents a significant, major step into the market for ground systems as well,” says Kristian Hammar, division manager at AerotechTelub.

The use of computer-based systems in engineer training secures major rationalization and cost savings for the user. This is particularly true when dealing with complex systems in defence technology applications, for instance, where training costs can be extremely high. For the CV9030 CH Combat Vehicle, using this system means that both engineers and operators can practice handling and faultfinding in the system, in a controlled, fully realistic environment.
