Large order to Saab Marine Electronics for radar level gauging equipment

The Swedish company Saab Marine Electronics has received a 40 million SEK order for radar-based level gauging equipment onboard eight chemical tankers. The top modern ships, delivered by the Polish shipyard Stettin, are of 40 000 dwt each.

The Greek ship-owner, Ceres Hellenic Shipping, with a tanker fleet of 40 ships from 15 000 dwt up to 300 000 dwt, has long experience of Saab TankRadar as level gauging equipment. Reliability and accuracy are important facts in the demanding environment inside the tanks on board these chemical carriers. The environmental aspect has, as well, been of great importance in the choice of radar-based level gauging equipment.

The first delivery is due to July next year and all deliveries contain level gauging in ballast, fuel oil and misc tanks, high-high alarm and load calculators.

Saab Marine Electronics is a company within the Saab Group. The company designs and manufactures radar-based level gauges for tankers and for the oil and chemical industry.
