The donation of SEK 200 million to SOS Children’s Villages will be used for a new children’s village in Cambodia and for a new youth home in Ukraine, among others things.
Foundations in the Akelius sphere are the largest donators to SOS Children’s Villages and have donated a total of SEK 700 million to the organization. Previous donations have been used for children’s villages in Gaza, the Philippines, Haiti and India, as well as for children affected by the refugee crisis in Europe and the Middle East.
Akelius supports other projects as well. One example is the free Swedish language course developed to enable refugees to more easily adapt to the Swedish society. The language course is now being translated into English, German and French.
