Semcon – development partner for concept car in Germany

A German automotive manufacturer has chosen Semcon as its development partner in a pilot study for a new concept car. The combined order for 2009 amounts to around SEK 50 million and the first phase of the project will run for the duration of the year.

The development is at the absolute leading edge concerning a range of technical solutions with very tough requirement specifications covering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This utilizes Semcon’s collective know-how in complete vehicle development and competence in design, construction, electronics and materials.

“This project is a further stage in our long collaboration with this client. It’s very pleasing that in these times that are characterized by recession and major uncertainty on the market, we have brought home an order on the back of our cutting-edge skills,” says Stefan Ohlsson, president of Semcon Automotive R&D. “This shows that we have an attractive offer and the right skills and that our investment in the international market continues to give results, even in these tough times.”
