TruGreen Offers Rays Of Hope To Haiti Earthquake Victims

TruGreen is making the most of last year’s branding change by donating clothing with outdated logos to Rays of Hope, a ministry that specializes in assisting organizations and individuals to send supplies to their partner projects in Haiti.

For the past few months, TruGreen has worked with our apparel vendor Winner’s to identify and liquidate warehoused items branded with the old TruGreen logo. Any items that were not liquidated have been donated to Rays of Hope for Haiti. To date, TruGreen has donated a total of $107,326 worth of promotional items and apparel to Rays of Hope.

“When we were looking into an organization, Winner’s had no hesitation on recommending Rays of Hope, said Michelle Borgognoni from the marketing team. “Troy Wolf, account manager for Winners, gave me the website and once I read their vision and mission statement I realized that this was the perfect match to our ServiceMaster core values.”

In December of 2010, TruGreen donated $95,410 worth of items including old logo items such as Six Sigma and Chemlawn, short sleeve polo shirts, long and short sleeve button up shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts, coffee cups, calculators and golf towels. In March of 2011, TruGreen donated another $11,916 worth of odd sizes and long shelf-life items such as short-sleeve polo shirts, long-sleeve button-up shirts and jackets.

“I’m really happy and proud that TruGreen has helped the men, women and children of Haiti,” said Michelle.

TruGreen is using this opportunity to live one of our ServiceMaster core values, We Care About People, as well as recycle outdated apparel instead of throwing it away.
