TruGreen Specialists Go Beyond The Call Of Duty To Help People In Need

In the span of just one week, two TruGreen specialists are being recognized for living the ServiceMaster Commitment to “do the right thing” by going above and beyond to help people in need.

Eric Wilson, College Park, Ga.
On Tuesday, April 5, Eric Wilson, specialist in the College Park branch, was on his way to a service call when he came upon an accident involving two children in a recreational vehicle in McDonough, Ga. The vehicle had flipped over on top of the children. Both of the children were badly injured but were alert and responsive. Eric stopped at the accident site, called 911 and stayed with the children until help arrived.

The children’s parents called TruGreen to thank Eric for his heroic actions. The doctor informed them that one of the children would have lost his arm had Eric not stopped when he did and called 911. According to the parents, the injuries could have been permanent had he not stopped and helped.

The parents wanted everyone to know what an exceptional employee Eric is because he took the time out of his busy day to stop and help someone in need.

When Eric was asked about the situation he responded by saying “I have children of my own and I would hope that anyone would have done the same thing regardless of who may be involved.”

“Eric is a dedicated employee and we are very fortunate to have him on our team,” said Gary Moore, general manager of the College Park branch. “Knowing Eric’s personality, it doesn’t surprise me at all that he stopped to help someone in need.”

Gerald Forte, Long Island East, N.Y.
A TruGreen customer in Long Island, N.Y., fell down while Gerald Forte, specialist for the Long Island East branch, was performing a tree and shrub service. Even though this incident was unrelated to Gerald’s service, he called 911 and stayed with the customer until the police arrived. The customer was so touched by Gerald’s concern and compassion that he called the TruGreen office to personally thank him. The local police who responded to the incident were also impressed with Gerald’s actions.

“We are all very proud of Gerald and appreciate his kindness,” said Joseph Wilson, general manager at the Long Island East branch.

Thank you, Eric and Gerald, for your heroic actions and living The ServiceMaster Commitment each and every day.
